HVAC Insulation Products

Flexfoil®

Uniquely designed system of materials made of layers of insulating, heat sealed air bubbles encased by a 99% pure aluminum foil outer surface. This unique combination delivers a high performance insulation product suitable for all construction and home renovating projects.

A Three in One Barrier!

Thermal Barrier:

Inside layer made of heat sealed insulating bubble. Eliminates convection and conduction heat transfers (represents 25% of all energy loss/gain in your house)

Radiant Barrier:

Outer surface made of 99% pure aluminum providing a highly reflective surface. Eliminates radiant heat transfers (represents 75% of all energy loss/gain in your house).

Vapour Barrier:

Combined product material acts as a vapour barrier. Protects against condensation and mildew.

Additional Flexfoil® Benefits:

Flexfoil® Product & Performance Characteristics include:

Foil Double Bubble Poly

Recommended for insulation of walls, ceilings, and under floors. Product is comprised of 2 layers of polyethylene bubble that are sandwiched between 1 layer of 99% pure aluminum foil and 1 layer of puncture resistant, chemically stable white polyethylene. Engineered for use in applications where one surface must be in direct contact with another surface.

R Values

  • Heat flow down: 7.8
  • Heat Flow up 3.2
  • Heat flow horizontal 3.9
  • R Values determined in guarded hot box facility according to ASTM C236 standard.

Foil Double Bubble Foil

Recommended for insulation of crawl spaces, attics, garage doors, and duct wrap. It is comprised of 2 layers of polyethylene bubble that are sandwiched between 2 layers of 99% pure aluminum foil. The polyethylene encapsulated air bubbles serve as an effective thermal break as well as vapour barrier, while the two outer layers of aluminum reflect up to 97% of all of the radiant energy.

R Values

  • Heat flow down: 14.6
  • Heat Flow up 5.4
  • Heat flow horizontal 6.7
  • R Values determined in guarded hot box facility according to ASTM C236 standard.

Bubble Foil Bubble

Recommended for the insulation of concrete slabs, and radiant floors. Product is comprised of 1 layer of 99% pure aluminum foil sandwiched between 2 layers of polyethylene bubbles. Specially built for application in direct contact with concrete surface. Ultra resistant to galvanic corrosion.

R Values

  • Heat flow down: 3.8
  • R Values determined in guarded hot box facility according to ASTM C236 standard.

Pipe Wrap

Comprised of one layer of polyethylene bubble that is sandwiched between 1 layer of 99% pure aluminum foil and 1 layer of puncture resistant, chemically stable white polyethylene coated.

  • Dimensionally this is 3/16” thick, 4” wide, by 25’ length rolls.
  • Tensile Strength: 13.9 lb/in
  • Tear Strength: 5.1 lb/in

Product is installed as a radiant barrier. An R Value cannot be assigned to the material in this system, as it is not a closed system. However, due to the low emittance of foil surfaces (emittance of 0.03), the Flexfoil® does not absorb and re-emit a large amount of radiant energy. This translates into significantly increased comfort levels.

Flexotherm® Reflective Vapour Barrier

Recommended for use on walls, ceilings, under floors and attics. Product is made of polyethylene film laminated on a 99% pure aluminum foil. Easy application of double sided and reflective tape.

Product & Performance Characteristics include:

  • Reflectivity: 0.92~0.97
  • Emittance: 0.03~0.08
  • Pliability: 10˚F (-12˚C) NO Cracking
  • Basic Weight Approx. 18 lbs/msq ft
  • Tensile Strength:
    • Min. of 23.9 Mpa for machine direction
    • Min of 19.5 for transverse direction
  • Water Vapour: ASTM-E96 Procedure A
  • Permanence:
    • As received, 0.0115 perms (1 ng/Pa-sm)
    • After aging, 0.04588 perms (4ng/Pa-sm)
  • In Conformity with: CAN/CGSB-51.33-M89, CCMC 12956-L

R Values

  • Heat flow horizontal: 3.8
  • R Values determined in guarded hot box facility according to ASTM C236 standard.

What you should know about R Values

A chart on the package shows the R-Value of the insulation. R means resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-Value, the greater the insulating power. Compare insulation R Values before you buy. There are other factors to consider. The amount of insulation you need depends mainly on the climate you live in.

Also, your fuel savings from insulation will depend upon the climate, the type and size of your house, the amount of insulation already in your house, and your fuel use patterns and family size. If you buy too much insulation, it will cost you more than what you'll save on fuel. To get the marked R-Value, it is essential that this insulation be installed properly.
