Low carbon, cold rolled steel strapping manufactured with close tolerances in order to conform with US government specifications. This strapping meets the requirements for general applications and can be used in both manual and combination tools.
Specially blended cold rolled steel product that is heat treated and quickly cooled to give maximum elongation for high shock specifications. Our high tensile steel strapping conforms to government specifications and is approved by the American Association of Railroads (AAR). This strapping is used where high elongation is required. Many heavy duty applications such as load dumping, structural steel transportation, and banding of heavy coils are good examples.
Johnson Plastics & Supply carries snap -on, thread-on, push-on and magazine seals for the most popular sizes of steel strapping. The snap- on seals are the most common while push- on seals are used with push type tensioners on small round or irregular shaped packages. Magazine seals are used in manual combination tools.
The type of closure is influenced by the load or package characteristics. Low volume, low tension, light weight packages may be best joined with plastic or steel buckles that require no tools. Low volume, medium tension, heavier loads may best be tensioned and sealed with manual tensioners and metal seals. The heaviest loads may require manual combination tools, polyester strapping and metal textured seals.
